I am sure that many of you have heard about the new ABC Family show Jane by Design. From the previews I have caught the show appears to be about a high school student given the opportunity that most of us would kill for in our lifetime; the chance to work in the fashion industry. Not just anywhere in the fashion industry, the assistant to a hip new designer.
Originally I was very disappointed by this, only for the fact that it is being shown on ABC Family which is infamous for cheesy, over dramatic, teeny-bopper disasters. Not to say that this show won't also fall into this category, information has been released about some episodes deserving Tivo space with cameos from fashion-royalty. Albeit, it will undoubtedly not have content that is as obsession worthy as shows such as The Rachel Zoe Project or Project Runway. As far as a fictional fashion show goes, it could be in the running to be the best yet. That is if you don't count The Hills as a fictional show (Which lets face it, it is.) that offered us a glimpse into the worlds of Dian Von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Amy Astley, Andre Leon Tally, Kelly Cutron and more! Keep your fingers crossed!
