First real day of class!

-This is a post that should have gone out 3.5 weeks ago but it is necessary to break into days to hit all the major points.
On this day we went to the building that we are having class in, which is at the Mod Art institute. Mod Art is a world wide school and a fairly prestigious one! We got invitations to their fashion show that was going on that night and met with their dean, Patrice De Palace. He use to work for Louis Vuitton and is responsible for setting up the entire business plan for the company in Japan. The people we've gotten to meet here are amazing. Our class then took a field trip to the second hand stores in the Marais district to buy some garments to deconstruct & use them in a new way, for our second photo shoot. After that we got ready for the Fashion show, which we got lost going to. This meant a nice detour to the Louvre and the Grand Palais. One I would have preferred if I hadnt been wearing heels but still nice. The fashion show was amazing! All of us were expecting a small gathering and not such a professional set up, none of us realized until then how prestigious Mod Art was. The line was incredibly long! We had to wait until the second showing to get in. We'll see how it compares to the Paris Couture shows that my classmates and I are hoping to sneak into. Channel anyone? We got a few tips on how to do so from a fashion photographer we met at a "Secret Dinner."- More on that later. Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure.
Place Des Vosges- Built by  King Henry IV to house a couple hundred of his closest friends.

It forms a large square that has a beautiful park in the middle. It later inspired King Henry to build the Louvre.

Some serenading

Place des vosges now houses many small stores as well as designer boutiques such as Gucci

A pretty building?

We realized our chaperone didnt know where the fashion show was when we ended up at the Louvre.

Our chaperone for the first 2.5 weeks, Marie, is the tiny lady in the blue coat. She was the best!

Marilyn Monroe look a-like?

The line to the fashion show!

I just had to get a picture of this guys hair. This was the typical look of the youth at the show.

I couldnt resist. She was in her 20s

We were sitting right next to the photographers

I hope this video works on here!

I was in the back row but I felt to awkward to stand.
